Is the touchscreen functional and free of discoloration, blemishes, and white spots?

Open an app with a white background like the web browser. Do you see any light spots, dark spots, or colors that aren't supposed to be there? Does the touchscreen have any areas that are non-responsive? If so, the answer to this question is NO.

Do both cameras work and are their lenses free from cracks?

Open the camera app and look at the image from both cameras. Is Face ID working properly? Is the image clear and can it focus on a subject? Look at the camera lenses. If the lenses are cracked or either camera is not working, the answer to this question is NO.

Do the speakers and microphone work?

Record a sound and then play it back. Does the recording work and do the speakers work when you play what you've recorded?

Can the device be charged?

Plug the device into a charger -- does the device indicate that it's charging?

Do all of the buttons work correctly?

Press each button and switch: volume, home, power, silence, etc. Do they behave as expected?

Are the front and rear glass free of cracks and deep scrapes?

Look closely for any cracks, chips, or nicks in the front or rear glass. "Deep scrapes" are defined as more than 2 scrapes or scratches with width wider than 2 mm, indicating glass has been removed. Is the device's software working normally as it should be?

Turn on the device -- does it show any concerning icons? Does the customer say that the device is restarting unexpectedly or 'glitching' in any way? If so, then the software is NOT working normally and the answer to this question is NO.

Is the body free of bends or dents larger than 1cm and screen or back panel separation?

Lay the device on a flat surface. Are there any bends in its frame? Inspect the frame carefully, are there any dents larger than one centimeter? Is the screen or back panel of the device separating from the rest of the frame? If so, the answer to this question is NO.
